November View- Sunset Wing
Design Concept:
The Sunset Wing of November View will be a pleasant stay for residents to develop their sense of independence and live a fulfilling life. Influenced by the sunset, this wing will contain deep blues, strong oranges, and cheerful yellows. These colors promote well-being because of their positive associations with emotions. Additionally, the name “sunset” alludes to the key concept of being restful. Inspired by restfulness, natural wood tones and soft textiles will promote peace and balance whilst giving off hints of nature with organic patterns. White walls will fill the space to keep it feeling open and non-restricting. The finishes in the wing will consider sustainability features to ensure the life cycle for the project is appropriate.
The livability of the micro apartments and amenity spaces is key in the design of the Sunset wing. Features such as adequate storage, a dining table, and a comfortable sleeping area will make the micro apartment feel like home to each resident. Inclusivity will be considered in the unit bathroom designs to ensure the residents can move about freely with no obstacles. In the amenity spaces, including a kitchen and shared laundry room, ADA guidelines will be followed to allow everyone easy access. The colors of blue, orange, and yellow will be brought into the amenity spaces for further branding. These amenities will bring about a sense of community and a sheltered feeling of having people around to support the veterans.
